Job Focus
Pfizer Global Biotherapeutic Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow with extensive expertise in cell biology and associated techniques, to work in a well established Antibody Engineering group. The successful candidate will execute a research project focusing on understanding the biology of tumor receptor internalization and re-cycling. This will involve dissecting the role of antibody target affinity, kinetics and recognition epitope in the process of receptor mediated endocytic antibody internalization, recycling and trafficking to the lysozomal compartment.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will use fluorescence techniques and confocal microscopy to investigate and quantify antibody internalization, recycling and lysosomal accumulation/degredation in cancer cells. This will involve antibody generation, conjugation to fluorescent dyes, biophysical analyses (surface plasmon resonance), immunofluorescent assay development using quantitative confocal microscopy techniques and/or high content imaging. The candidate will be expected to publish in high quality journals, perform at a highly collaborative level and present their work at appropriate conferences.
Qualifications
A PhD in Cell Biology or related area/discipline covering immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy analyses is required along with 0-3 years post-doctoral experience with a similar experimental/technique focus. Experience in quantitative immunofluorescent assay development is required. Additional experience/knowledge in antibody immunology, function and engineering/therapeutics and/or cancer biology is desirable. Publication of at least 1 first-author paper in a high impact journal is also a required.
- Significant experience in immunofluorescence confocal microscopy . Experienced in analysing receptor recycling and trafficking to the lysozome.
- Significant experience in cell culture and mammalian protein expression (HEK/CHO/COScells and cancer lines)
- Cell based assays experience required. Cell kill assay experience.

- Antibody Phage Display
- Molecular Biology (PCR,SDM, Ligations, Phage Libraries)
- Chemical conjugations (Amine, thiol coupling or other chemistries)
- Demonstrated with 1st Author publications and presentations at conferences
