The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB –http://www.biochem.mpg.de) is a world-leading institute for basic biomedical research. The MPIB is embedded in a thriving campus with firm links to two internationally renowned universities, the Ludwig-Maximilians University (LMU) and the Technical University Munich (TUM), from which Master and PhD students can obtain their degrees.

The International Max Planck Research School for Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences (IMPRS;http://www.imprs-ls.de), a collaborative graduate school of three Max Planck Institutes (Biochemistry, Neurobiology, Psychiatry) and two universities (LMU, TUM) of the Munich area, selects international graduate students once per year. In addition, young scientists (postdocs, Master/ PhD students) who are interested in a career at the MPIB are encouraged to apply directly to the individual groups listed below.
